Tiwaz · ᛏ
The seventeenth rune of the Elder Futhark, named for Týr — the Norse god of law and honorable battle. When the gods bound the wolf Fenrir, the beast demanded a hand in its jaws as a pledge. Týr gave his, knowing it was lost. The wolf was bound; the world held. Shaped like an upward spear, Tiwaz is the rune of direction, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve.
Worn for the moments when doing the right thing is also the hard thing.
The piece — Handcast pewter, lead- and antimony-free. About 32mm, the size of a large coin. Black waxed cotton cord, adjustable. Each one cast individually — no two alike.
A powerful gift for anyone who leads with integrity — a lawyer, a veteran, an activist, or simply someone who holds the line when it would be easier not to.
